How to Self-Host your jambonz Voice Infrastructure

Host jambonz on your own servers or cloud environment to control your network, your data, and your scaling model—without per-minute fees or vendor lock-in.

How self-hosting on jambonz works

Deploying jambonz yourself is simple; here’s the workflow from
installation to activation:

  • Spin up a jambonz single server or cluster using our provided scripts and documentation.
  • Choose a domain or subdomain name to host the jambonz portal as part of the install.
  • Complete the post-install steps, including creating the necessary DNS records for the system.
  • Go to https://licensing.jambonz.org to acquire a license; the license will be keyed to your selected domain name.
  • Paste the license key into your self-hosted jambonz portal under Settings/Admin tab.
  • Voila! Your system is now licensed and ready to run.

How jambonz licensing works

The jambonz self-hosting is designed to flex with your deployment model—whether you’re running a lightweight single-node system or a fully redundant cluster in an air-gapped environment. In all cases, licenses are keyed to a single jambonz cluster or system (identified by domain name); if you need to run multiple clusters then you must license each cluster separately.

Standard Licensing

  • Is a monthly subscription model where you are charged each month for the license
  • Has two pricing models: session-based or unlimited
  • Can be canceled at any time

Pricing

  • Session-based: $7/session, where a session is defined as a single incoming or outgoing call (note: an incoming call that dials an outgoing call counts as a single session).
  • Unlimited: flat monthly fee of $2,000.

Special requirements:

  • One free trial license per system is available to start with; educational and pre-revenue organizations can request longer-term free trial licenses.
  • An air-gapped license is available upon request for those companies that want to run jambonz systems in a completely private, air-gapped environment.

These licenses are not subscription licenses (i.e. they do not auto-renew) and must be purchased for a specific period of time and then renewed by the customer.
  • An OEM license is available to those who want to redistribute the jambonz software to their customers as part of their product; contact us for details.
